Laurel Woods
When my friend asked for help with her home’s floor plan, she wasn’t kidding. The original layout had you walking through the laundry room just to get from the living room to the kitchen—definitely not ideal. As someone who loves cooking and entertaining, she dreamed of creating a kitchen that truly worked for her.
What started as a five-year plan quickly turned into a full-blown project when she saw how much potential her home had. We moved a few walls to open up the space and created a floor plan that flowed beautifully, making her dream kitchen a reality.
The best part? No new square footage was added! We simply made her existing space more efficient. From reconfiguring the layout to ensuring she had room for every cooking item (down to the last spice), Leaning Oak Designs worked hand-in-hand with her to perfect the plan. The result is a more functional and beautiful space, designed for the way she lives and entertains.

The Ark
When my neighbor came to me with a vision for a barn on their farm, they knew exactly what they wanted: a structure that would complement the existing buildings on the property while drawing inspiration from a vineyard they had visited. They provided the initial concept for the floor plan, and together, we refined it into something truly special.
After finalizing the design, I sent the plans to a structural engineer, and we broke ground in late February 2025. This nearly 10,000 square-foot, stick-framed barn is already shaping up to be an incredible sight on the farm, blending functionality with the unique inspiration that started it all.
The Sundance Sanctuary
For this project, the client had a bold vision for their bathroom remodel, choosing the striking black tile named Sundance Night. What started as a simple refresh quickly turned into a stunning transformation. The bathroom now boasts a freestanding tub, a massive shower, and sleek modern details that bring the whole space to life.
The kitchen was also given a refresh, complementing the bold design of the bathroom while maintaining a functional layout. This remodel truly embodies the client’s desire for a space that’s both stylish and practical, making it a true sanctuary in their home.
